  • Re: An ode to the album format, and my top 11

    @MiracleManS said:
    There will likely be some recency bias here, but my favorite albums tend to be:

    Relationship of Command - At the Drive-In
    The Greatest Story Ever Told - The Lawrence Arms (the liner notes and story are fucking awesome and it includes tons of cultural references)
    Transgender Dysphoria Blues - Against Me! (took forever to make as Laura was beginning to transition, re-recorded a half a dozen times and self recorded and released)
    At the Edge of Time - Blind Guardian
    Touched By The Crimson King - Demons & Wizards
    Dear You - Jawbreaker (first and only major label release by them. Actually ended up killing the band. Still a good listen and a huge break from their earlier stuff)
    I'd Rather Die Than Live Forever - Brendan Kelly and the Wandering Birds (Not for the faint of heart, written because he had kids and was stuck listening to Dora and shit. Gets pretty dark while being poppy)

    Well I didn't expect to see Jawbreaker or the Lawrence Arms. I was really into them for a long time. Dear you truly was fantastic. Jets to Brazil has some stuff that beckons to the Jawbreaker stuff.

  • Re: Adventures in bourbon - Bottled in Bond

    Some absurd amount of all bourbon and especially ryes in the US are made in the same MGP owned plant in Lawrenceburg Indiana. Bulleit is made there, Dickel is made there, High West is made there. It's massive and like every startup gets their whiskey made their to start. It helps them get going faster because of the whole age thing.

    It's in the corner of Indiana bordered by Ohio, and Kentucky, gets their water from the Ohio river. Only redeemable thing about that whole area of Indiana.

  • Re: Horizontal PC cases?

    Man how dusty does that thing get under a couch, with hardwood floors, and a cat?

    EDIT: For actual advice. Maybe a Lian-Li something like this http://www.lian-li.com/en/dt_portfolio/pc-q19/
    I have the NCase which was Lian-Li manufactured and I got say that the manufacturing on it is top notch no problems. I have not however ever worked in a Lian-Li designed case, but I do hear great things.

    I never cared much for Clarkson. James May is my boy though.
