You found the friendliest gaming & tech geeks around. Say hello!
SteamSpy has Black Mesa at 300K copies purchased. Six million in revenue for an unfinished remake makes me think someone is still okay with the idea of picking up health along the way. There is room for different mechanics.
The best thing about this was reliving all the nostalgia without the outdated graphics screaming "THIS GAME IS OLD!" It was like playing it for the first time again.
I am loving the AC-PRO. I can get wireless speeds that are just as fast as wired with very little latency. Also, I can be at the edge of my property and still get almost full speed internet.
The beer map was fun. I really don't understand how people didn't get it. If you've every played a Call of Duty/Battlefield/other cookie cutter shoot em up, it's a dog tag map. If you are completely new to it, players drop an item when they are killed, you need to collect this item then deposit it for points. We should try more maps like this to keep things fresh, however next time maybe have a description in the map thread so we all know the rules at the start.
I'll give it a whirl. Sounds like a good twist on the typical shoot the zombies type of game.
Glad I could help make a difference.
