Corsair TX750 Power Supply Review

Corsair TX750 Power Supply Review

Conclusion

It was unfortunate that I could not yet put the TX750 through Icrontic’s new PSU testing methodology but given the testing I did conduct, this is simply a great PSU. Rock solid rails, high quality components, a plethora of connectors and just about all of the traits we look for in a PSU make the TX750 a winner. A heavier duty version of the CWT built VX550, the TX750 is an excellent choice for enthusiasts requiring higher output for dual graphics cards and highly overclocked systems. At around $169 with frequent rebates bringing the cost down closer to the $140 mark, the TX750 is a very good value. I would not hesitate to recommend the TX750 and as such, it wins Icrontic’s “Stamp of Approval”. Like the HX and VX series, I have no doubt that the TX series will be a success. Corsair has once again has proved that they are a worthy contender in the PSU market.

Pros:

  • Rock solid rails
  • A very healthy 60A +12V output on a single rail
  • Efficient
  • High quality capacitors and clean internal construction
  • Good thermal design and a good choice of fan
  • Quiet
  • Very durable powder coat finish, looks great
  • Good price

Cons:

  • A bit larger than standard ATX size
  • Cables not sleeved right into the casing
  • Not a big fan of the plastic fan deflector

This product has won Icrontic’s “Stamp of Approval” award.

Winfrey Very good article Mike! Hopefully more people are realizing that quality systems these days mean starting with quality power. And this PSU definitely seems to deliver!

    BTW:
We hope to have a quality oscilloscope in the lab for future PSU reviews.

    get on that prime!

I also look forward to that article on phantom power draw. Very interesting.

I happened to stumble across a yet to be released HX1000 model on Corsair's product page: http://corsair.com/products/hx1000.aspx so even higher power solutions are on their way

  6. Tong Is this psu safe to power three nvidia gts 250 cards? Each of my gts 250 requires two 6-pins power connectors and this psu comes with only 4. I have the molex adapters, but I hear that it isn't safe to use molex adapters. Help.
