iPhone OS 3.1.3 released

iPhone OS 3.1.3 released

Apple has announced today the official release of iPhone OS 3.1.3, bringing with it a trio of minor fixes, including:

  • Improved accuracy of reported battery levels on the iPhone 3GS;
  • Resolved issues where certain third-party applications would not launch in select instances;
  • and resolution to a bug that could occasionally cause an app to crash when using the Japanese Kana key set.

Users who have jailbroken their iPhone, however, should be aware that the new patch is not compatible with PwnageTool or redsn0w. The tools’ creators, the Dev Team, have released a warning to this effect:

WARNING! At 10.30AM PST on February 2nd 2010 Apple released the 3.1.3 version (7E18) of the iPhoneOS.

If you care about your jailbreak and unlock, don’t update your device – 3G and 3G(S) owners should pay particular attention to this warning.

  • PwnageTool and redsn0w are not yet compatible with 3.1.3
  • There is no estimated release time for compatible tools (please don’t bug us about this).
  • Any information we have regarding this update will be posted here.

    chrisWhite Sounds good, now to wait for the jailbrake tools.
  2. Bandrik
    Bandrik I'm with Chris. Yay Apple, but that's just not nearly compelling enough to give up my current ability to have control over my own phone. I'm not at all interested in returning the reigns back to you.
  3. Shorty
    Shorty Wow, big update there ;D

    I will probably do it at some point.

    Still at least they actually give you a release note (see Blackberry blackbox updates).

    chrisWhite Ironic, since their OS X release note suck so badly.
