Shattered Horizon “Moonrise” DLC out now

Shattered Horizon “Moonrise” DLC out now

Today Futuremark announced the release of the Moonrise content pack, free for all Shattered Horizon owners.

The Moonrise content pack, originally announced in November of 2009,  contains four new maps, doubling the number of maps for the game. From the press release, the new maps are:

  • Deadeye: The M-75 COMSAT microwave communication dish kept transmitting throughout the massive destruction on the Moon, its systems failing only after backup battery power was depleted. The logs contain classified information of MMC operations that must not fall in ISA’s hands.
  • Ten Star: Built in 2041, the Ten Star Hotel was a symbol of the wealth amassed by the oligarchs of the Moon mining business. A layer of golden radiation shielding covers what used to be the tower’s upper structure. The opportunistic crew of an ISA scouting mission decide to collect some souvenirs – only to run into MMC scavengers already looting the ruins.
  • Searchlight: MINOTAUR, an MMC orbital recovery vehicle survived the Moon catastrophe unscathed. Too valuable to risk in combat, it performs salvage and recovery missions behind the front lines. The ISA sets up operation Theseus to lure the ship into an obstructed space and knock it out.
  • Slingshot: Mass driver transportation was the key to commercial logistics between the Moon and Earth. As the conflict in space escalates, these massive electromagnetic guns are now a threat looming in the orbit. If the ISA can secure all the intact mass drivers near the Moon, the balance of power will shift dramatically.

Garg I remember when we called these "updates," "map packs," or "expansions" instead of DLC.

I need to actually buy this game before everyone gets too ridiculously good at it for me to stand a chance.

Too late, some of the people playing are insanely good and I have seen many people rage quit because of them.

Cliff_Forster Now if DFI would finaly repair my motherboard, ughhhhhhhh!!!! (oh, in space, nobody would hear that)

I have not played a PC game in two weeks, I honestly think I am going to loose my mind. First thing I am playing when I'm back up is this.

pigflipper So the problem with the board was something physically wrong with the board? I have the same board, how was DFI to deal with?

On topic: you gonna get hurt when you get back to playin :-p
  5. Ollie For those who haven't played yet, we have point limited servers for you to get up to speed and learn the maps before you decide to jump into the deep end.
    Cheers,

So far I would describe DFI as "courteous"

I'm waiting on my board yet, but its not their fault, UPS service was slow with the recent Baltimore snowmageddon, and they were closed on Monday, but they have it now, and I hope to have the board back in the next few days.

I miss my gaming PC terribly :*(

Going from a Phenom II 965 with a Radeon 5870 down to an Old Athlon XP 2800+ and a Geforce 4 MX is painful.

Howdy, Stranger!
