Coolink GFXChilla Review

A Closer Look

The GFXChilla came packaged in a small cardboard box with all of the included components protected in a plastic shell.

A listing of the included accessories can be found on the side of the box as well as a diagram depicting its dimensions on the back.

Coolink includes quite a few memory and voltage regulation heatsinks with the GFXChilla. Depending on your card, there may be quite a few left over. A 4-pin molex to fan adapter is included as well as a tube of generic thermal paste. The thin yellow strips are protective pads for GPUs without shims or heatspreaders.

The GFXChilla itself is an impressive sight—four heatpipes and many closely packed fins. The heatsink itself is pretty light, weighing in at only a little over 300 grams.

The base of the GFXChilla ships with a protective covering and is constructed of copper.

The base is lightly polished with some machine marks visible. It is slightly concave as verified by our straight edge test. The effect is very slight and only protrudes along the outer edges of the base. It should not impact performance significantly.

Standing only 30mm tall, there are only a few millimeters between the base and the fin bank.

The fans are unmarked 80×10mm models. They mount using threaded holes on mounting bridges. There is no reason that regular sized 80×25mm fans can’t be used—although the included fan mounting screws are not intended for 80×25mm fan installation.

The fins on the GFXChilla are packed pretty closely. With it being so thin, this is important to ensure adequate fin surface area. There are small holes punched out for improved dissipation as well.

    NCIX carries coolink products:

They are pretty new to the North American market, so most retailers do not carry their products yet.

Hey, be nice. Icrontic is full of good people, we promise.
