Firefox 2.0 forum submit quick-fix

In Firefox 2.0, Mozilla has offered a really nice product once again. Those who use Firefox to post on forums like Short-Media are especially enjoying the spell check.

Many of you may not know that many forums have a "secret" key stroke to allow you to submit a reply. The "alt+s" automatically submits your reply. This same key combination allows you to send e-mail with many clients.

Firefox 2.0 has one drawback for forum users: "alt+s" now opens the History menu. This is REALLY hard for me to deal with since it is second nature for me.

Can it be fixed? You bet! That's another GREAT feature of Firefox: the ability to change settings.

1. Bring up Firefox and type "about:config" (no spaces or quotes) in the address bar. That brings up the configuration page.

2. Scroll down to "ui.key.contentAccess" and double-click on it.

3. Change the "5" to a "4" and close Firefox.

That's it! You can use the "alt+s" on forums once more.
