Merger with Short-Media.com planned

May 24, 2007 (Warren, Michigan US) -

Earlier this month, ShortMedia, LLC purchased Icrontic.com and its assets. Once a major player in the enthusiast hardware scene, Icrontic's server was compromised on May 24, 2003. Lacking recent backups, it was a blow the site never recovered from. Short-Media.com was founded by the staff of Icrontic.com with new owners. Much of Icrontic's community at the time of the hacking continues to be active at Short-Media.

On June 2, 2007, precisely four years since Short-Media opened its digital doors, Short-Media.com and Icrontic will be merged under the Icrontic name and domain as a new community-driven technology journal. On that day, a new design and custom-coded content management system will debut on the site. The two sites will be merged so that no user accounts, discussions, or articles are lost in this move and all Short-Media site and e-mail addresses will forward appropriately.

The staff of both sites support the merger and anticipate it will be the catalyst for new energy behind the site. Already, plans are in action that will significantly invigorate the combined site as a fresh presence in the online technology community. Icrontic will tip its hat to its past in both design and content, but it will be a technology journal in its own new style.

ShortMedia, LLC is owned and managed by Brian Ambrozy and Matt Russell of Warren, Michigan.
