I got a program called Powerstrip i've heard mentioned. here's my current clocks on the 9700.

    Core: 324
    Mem: 310.5

    I've never messed with it

Powerstrip is the best but it is very sensitive to other stuff as well.
Dont touch things in there if you dont know what it is. But powerful? Yes.

My favorite is Rage3D Tweak; www.rage3d.com

Rage3d worked for me. Push core up in increments of 5. Run the 2nd game test in 3dmark2k3 to test for any visual errors. If you have visual errors bring it down 1 mhz until all visual errors are gone. Then do the same with the memory. Once it all seems stable, run 3dmark2003 to see how much of an improvement you gained.

There is another way as well which i tried the other day.
I edited the bios instead and gave it a overclock that way.
That is off course if you know what the card will do, not to test.

Ya. I flashed my 9700 np's bios to 9700p bios. Gave me a nice 50/40 overclock.

What i meant is that you can also alter the clocks on both core and memory like you can in the other software tweakers.

I wouldn't recommend that to ion if he's just now starting...
