Well neither NAV nor windows autoupdates work yet all settings appear correct and my internet is working just fine. Both apps can be updated manually but i don't remember to check that often hence why i want the computer to do it. I think it started when i installed my modem but i don't know why. Any ideas. :)

    Try going to:

http://v5.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ and getting the new update software. Then set your WindowsUpdate autoupdate settings from the new WindowsUpdate site (there will be a link for that on that new page, and in the new software you will be getting a new AutoUpdate partial software set also). Note, the END-USER version of SP2 for XP is not out yet. What is out so far is an IT Pro\admin full archive set of SP2 that is quite huge in size. That NEW version of WindowsUpdate will be replacing version 4 and it is up and running now. My XP SP1 box talks fine to it. Switchover\migration started over this last weekend, and it has some of the version 4 update archives linked over to it now also.

As to NAV, I can only say that NAV might be trying to use the wrong dialup connect. Try telling it to use IE's settings if you can, see if it suddenly works.

I'll try that update. Thanks straigh_man. :) NAV is using the ie's settings.

    Edit
The problem has been for about 2 weeks. It is possible that both are related to that windows update. I'll install and found out. Let's hope it's not to slow.

It still isn't working. Nav is supposed to update itself but everytime i run liveupdate there's definitions to download. Any ideas? :)

Here's a thread from sygates site. Is this what's wrong. I've followed the advices in that thread.

And it lookes like i've got jackpot because this morning my computer wanted me to install some updates for windows. Since it could be sp2 i haven't taken the time to do so yet but i will soon. I wonder if nav is working as well. Time will tell.
