Help! "Objects moved to here" on IE startup? Browser Hijacked?

hi, i am on a national DSL carrier

whenever i start my browser (internet explorer), instead of going to my homepage sympatico.my.msn.com, i get a link "Objects moved to here", after which i need to click on the link to go to my homepage. the url of the link is identical (sympatico.my.msn.com), so there is no redirecting i can observe. i have changed my default IE startup URL without any success.

i am running win xp with sp1.

i had cleared out my ie cache and temp files, ran ad-ware SE and spybot and still problem persists.

anyone can verify this problem? what is causing this?

here is the hijackthis log. much appreciate if you can help.

Sorry to take so long to get to you, it has been pretty busy here the last while. :)

That's an odd error, and one that I have not seen before. Let's try cleaning a couple of items.

First of all: Please make sure that HijackThis.exe is in its own folder (eg: c:\hijackthis or C:\HJT). When you use HijackThis to remove unwanted items, it creates backup files. If you ever mistakenly remove an item that you later discover you need, you can recover these items from the backup file. Having HijackThis.exe in its own folder gives these backup files a safe place to reside, and reduces clutter on your Desktop or My Documents folder.

Reboot in SAFE MODE. Run HJT. Fix:

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {549B5CA7-4A86-11D7-A4DF-000874180BB3} - (no file)

    O2 - BHO: Web assistant - {9ECB9560-04F9-4bbc-943D-298DDF1699E1} - C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\AdBlocking\NISShExt.dll

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {FDD3B846-8D59-4ffb-8758-209B6AD74ACC} - (no file)

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SpriteService] C:\Program Files\Sprite Software\Pocket Backup Plus\SpriteService.exe

Reboot normally, and see what happens. Come back, and let us know, post a fresh HJT log for review.
