Yellow shield with Exclamation mark, what is it?

Hi all, I hope I get a quick response... I've got a Yellow shield with a red exclamation mark in it in my system tray. Passing the cursor over it tells me it's downloading updates. Must be a big update because its been at it for 2 days and I'm on 512 broadband (and it's still only 40% complete!)

I've got SP2 installed, use E-trust EZ AV, use AAW & SB regularly, etc.

I can't open the icon to find out what this is, nor can I find it as a running process.

Any clues? Thanks!

It's probably a broken download. I would just try visiting windows update manually (windowsupdate.microsoft.com) and download all updates, reboot, and see if it goes away.

Last time I saw one of those my array had failed but my OS was loaded into ram (sort of) so it was still running enough to register that there was an error. When I passed my cursor over the icon it said simply "unknown hard error" and that was it.
I found out what it was when I attempted to shut my pc down.
