Is it me, or is that layout of that case backwards?

I'm gonna have to repost the picture of my desk back in 2003 since it seems the forum has lost the image and then my current picture. Still have the same desk and chair though.

It's not backwards. It's the BTX form factor.

Where I've got the drawing board at there's supposed to be a keyboard tray. I never use the things because I don't like having my keyboard that low, so I just never installed it.

I knew I was gonna get crap for that, should have shopped it out. I was fighting a sinus infection at the time. Not fun, wouldn't recommend it

Too big to get a good shot of it in the new house, there's 10 more feet of desk extending to the left. Still kind of a mess since the move, but this is what I'm working with right now:

Yessir! It's quite versatile. We've been rearranging the pieces and adding to it for 3 different moves now.

As you can see above, my desk is looking pretty ratty (and small) these days (note where I've had to sand off water damage from several cat-induced spills), maybe I'll ask for an Ikea desk for Christmas this year.

it's a window nook. there are closets on either side of it, that were added after the house was built. when it was just my laptop on the desk, i could open the curtains and window and have nice light and fresh air... but now it's hard to see past the monitor.

Not a great pic but here is my first actual desk in a couple years, came with the house. Looking to get a nice large L shaped desk for my bedroom as mentioned in another post to make room for when I get 5 LCD's running!

What you don't see is that the crowbar is labeled "fsck -fy"

I was gonna put the -v flag on it but as one of the sysres guys mentioned, you can only get so verbose with a crowbar.

Also, the postits were "found" shortly after the news crews left

The newly constructed with my own two hands and the sweat of my brow desk. Because somewhere, deep down inside, I knew that no prefab desk would ever satisfy me. I felt a strange sense of accomplishment when I finished constructing this and started setting up my electronics on it. This feeling quadrupled when I placed my level on it and found it to be level in all directions.

I think it's more that I need a better camera. My Nexus One may be 5MP, but my 4.1MP Canon point and shoot seems to take better pictures. Just need to find the damn thing.... and replenish my supply of batteries.

As for material, I just used some cheap pine I picked up at Home Depot. Took the time to stain it and apply a few coats of polyurethane though.

Is my desk. I moved it into a room in the back of the house because I got tired of people coming in and staring over my shoulder and thetraffic outside the hallway of the study tended to me quite noisy.

On the left, you can see various anime plushies. On the right is a small guitar, a statue of Ezio Auditore, a Red Dragon figure, and (covered in the shadow of the shelf) Tool's 10,000 Days. Also visible is my Razer Lachesis, part of my Logitech G15, the box for Poekmon SoulSilver, a SLD report card, and a prom ticket. The best part is visible on the bottom left, my computer with a Razer sticker and Fallout 3 on it.
