Has anyone tried to dit a Zalman ZM80C-HP cooler on a 6800 series card? Zalman says you can't, but I thought I read somewhere that it can be done. Just thought I would ask before I try it.

most likely can't handle the heat output anyhow, certainly not without a fan blowing right on it.

it has a fan for it. The only problem is the holes on the card are not quite big enough. I'm going to see what I can do. The fan on it now is very annoying, I've got to do something.

Geeky, I'll see if I can get this to work, if I can't I'll get a silencer. I haven't had a free moment to mess with it yet. The stock cooler cools it well enough, but its really loud.

I put my Zalman ZM80C-HP to rest in a box and now use the silencer. Way less money for way better cooling IMO.

I left the Zalman on the 9800pro and got a nvsilencer. I'm not really interested in overclocking it much, I just wanted a quiet computer. The stock fan was far from quiet.
