By the way, I still see websiteviewer in Program files and files "1", "2", "3"..."7" in C:/. Should I delete them? My dial-up status read 9 million received and 600,000+ sent, so internet runs slowly in my PC.

    Thank you.

I do not see an antivirus program in your log. Please download and install AVG antivirus.

    http://free.grisoft.com/softw/70free/setup/avg70free_300a419.exe

Once installed, follow the prompts to update it and run a complete scan. Let me know what it finds.

Reboot and post a new hijackthis log after the scan.

The link appears to be corrupted.

Can I just install Norton Antivirus 2003 or MCAFFEE and get updates?
  • Buckeye_SamBuckeye_Sam Columbus, Ohio
    edited February 2005
The link works fine for me. I do not recommend Norton, and Mcafee is only marginally better. AVG is an excellent antivirus solution and it's free. It will catch many more trojan viruses than either Norton or Mcafee.

If you can't get the link to work just go to http://www.grisoft.com/ and navigate to the free version of AVG.

I have downloaded avg but I couldn't install it. The software read:

In Internet Explorer click on Tools -> Internet Options. Select the Security tab. Make sure Internet is hilighted and click on Custom Level. You should now be able to see the settings you want to adjust.
