Need advice on web filtering software

Greetings,

My kids are reaching the age where they are becoming more PC literate. They've got a few kid friendly websites they can get to on their own, but at the same time, I have found them trying to enter their own URL's. Given how easy it can sometimes be to access mature content websites from innocuous sounding URL's, I'd like to put up some form of proxy or filtering software on the PC they use.

One solution is to sit with them the entire time they are on the PC, but that's not realistic. I'm not a prude, and don't want to try and block all "bad" things forever, but, rather a realist, and am not quite prepared to explain to my two kids why "all those people are naked". :wtf:

For a change, I'm actually willing to pay for this software, not a lot, but $30-$50 range. What solutions or suggestions to this have SM members found?
