Trouble resizing partition with PM8

Hi guys

I am having some trouble with Partition magic 8. This machine has a 160 gig hdd all as c:
I tried to creat a new partition in the free space and on reboot PM8 failed with an error 1529 something about a batch file mismatch. I tried it a couple different times at different sizes with the same error and failure.
I then tried to "Resize" the C: partition and it also failed with the same error.

Any ideas ?

    Run a chkdsk. Sometimes that will fix the problem.

    you should do a chkdsk before almost any drive modification. Inlcluding defragging a drive.

    ok but what if you have already defraged and run chkdsk with /f ???
    PM still gives error 1529...
