Please help with HJT Log

I had to reformat my hard drive and reload system, files, browsers, etc. I've run Adaware, spybot, and norton antivirus scans.

    My computer was rebooting on its own....technician said I had two viruses....they formatted the hard drive and I had to reinstall all software. So wanted to make sure the installation processes didn't add spyware stuff on my computer or anything I should fix.

    Computer isn't rebooting on its own anymore....so hopefully it is ok.

    I'd say never go back to that technician if they reformatted your harddrive over a few viruses =/

    Perhaps you are right....machine was under warranty so took it to them. My norton antivirus and housecalls scans didn't detect the virus. They said they ran a virus program that checks without windows running and detected two virus that could not be fixed. Said reformating the computer was only option.

    I've got a kilobyte mind and live in a gigabyte world so took them at their word and had them "fix" the computer. It wasn't operable before the repair (kept rebooting so frequently I couldn't use it...didn't seem to matter what program I was using)....hasn't rebooted on its own since the "repair" and reloading my software.

    If I encounter something similar in the future, what would you suggest I do rather than take it to them?

    Your log is still clean of spyware. Are you sure it's not a hardware problem? Have you tested your RAM? My computer used to randomly reboot when running memory-intensive programs and I found that it was a bad stick of RAM. If you have multiple sticks of RAM in the computer, try running the system with one stick, then the other, and switch them between banks.

    Thanks. I ran memtest on both sticks together and separately for 12 hour periods...no errors.

    Thanks for the reply. I'm in Virginia visiting my daughter and trying to get her computer running better. Some folks have been offering suggestion to help with that computer (different thread) and I sure appreciate their help!
