WUs won't upload

Hi Team,

I've run unto a problem. I've got two rigs with completed work since the 16th sitting on them. I've narrowed down the cause, but not the solution. The WUs were started before IT cut off port 8080. If I look at EMIII, it says that's how they were download. My rigs are still moving along fine and picking up and uploading anything brought down via port 80. IT isn't going to reopen 8080 for me. So, the question is, how do I get those completed WUs to upload (600 points each). I read somewhere that they should upload bia 80 if they can't get through 8080 on the first two attempts, but I've seen a tone of entries where they're trying to upload, but can't. Does anyone have a solution? Is there a way to get the work to upload via port 80?

Thanks.

Look at your client.cfg file in the FAH folder (use Notepad to open it) and see what the port is set to. If it's like mine and says 8080, you can edit it in Notepad and change it to 80.

See if that does the trick. :)

Are you using the console version? If so, I *believe* you can run the program with -configonly and change the proxy option to yes and then change the port to 80.

See my picture attached. BTW, you should also be able to change this in the graphical version too. Let me know if it works.

Stanford has a few servers down at the moment, but the one you are trying to connect to doesn't seem to be among them.

This is the part that bothers me: 171.65.103.100:8080

It seems that it still wants to use port 8080, though that is hopefully the port at the receiving end, not the port at your end.

Do you have a computer at home you could send the results from? (Or a friend who does?) You could copy the finished WU to a memory stick (or cdrom, whatever), then try this:

    1) Copy the queue.dat file and wuresults_0x.dat file from the work folder from your work place client.

    2) Backup your work folder and queue.dat file from your home client so you can restore it later.

    3) Start the client with the -send all flag so it doesn't fetch a new WU.

    4) Restore the work folder and queue.dat file from your home client to it's original location.

Thanks profdlp. That did it. I just uploaded both work units and when I get back to work Monday, I'll delete them from the queue.

    I appreciate the help.
