Don't worry, I too had a "metoric rise" through the ranks such as you were experiencing.. I was high as a kite, riding on top of the world.... So happy, so serene...
Then I saw him.. In my rearview... A bead of sweat formed on my brow. "This has got to be a fluke," I thought to myself.
But it was no fluke.
Suddenly, I heard a high pitched noise, very faintly, in the background. I checked the mirror again. He was there, but it looked as if he were twice as big. "This has got to be a mistake!" I thought. "There's no WAY he could be moving that fast."
But it was no mistake. He blew by me so fast that I barely got a glance at his name tag. I struggled to catch a glimpse.
