Old rigs.

When I moved last fall, my small farm was shut down. Some rigs went to the SMX project, slower ones went to people who didn't have a computer or couldn't afford to upgrade the one they had.

Here's the deal.. I've got parts for 2 basic rigs, but they're to slow for the SMX project and 2 slow for me to run. Would anybody be interested in putting them to work folding for the Team? All I ask is you pay for shipping, I will front the shipping and let you know how much. (cost will depend on what parts you want. USPS)

Parts: 2 Athlon 850mhz cpus w/hsf (the big ole cartridge procs)
2 shuttle AI61 boards (for above)
ram for both above-I had at least 256mb. in each board when I shut them down.

Last fall I was running both boards, I'm not really sure exactly what I've got as far as nic's etc. I'm just tired of tripping over this stuff and I can't stand to just throw it away.

Open to members of Team 93, IN GOOD STANDING. Rigs MUST fold!
if your interested, post, e-mail, pm, whatever.:buck:

That's some dedications. Thanks, Donut, for contributing so much, and thanks, DogDragon and citrixmeta, for offering to pick up on hosting the rigs. :fold:

What CPU will those mobos run?
    I have few TBirds around, at least a 1GHz and a 1.33. I'll take a look.
Whoever ends up with these I'll make you a great deal (like the same one Donut offered).

Those old Shuttle boards IIRC would do up to 1 ghz. (slot a I think)

    Hey all
I have them and will be getting them up and running this weekend.
I have to, my little dell will need the help so I can catch SM31 and pass her.

Now that your getting SM31 (congrats), isn't this kind of a conflict of interest?

No SM31 will be folding for SM31 and one of the rigs you send will be folding to get and keep my WUs ahead of SM31.
I mean I have a dell 2400 and it will need the help to get and stay ahead of SM31.
At the time I pm you I knew I needed more help than what my little dell had to be able to fold with you big guys.
So that's why I pm you.
    I needed more folding power.

just messin with ya. Those rigs won't provide a lot of power, but every little bit helps. I just wish Stanford would bring back the Tinkers, iirc those procs couldn't keep up with the p3s because of lack of SSE.

When I first came to Team 93, I folded on 1 machine. It's the proc you have with the gold colored HSF and the board the northbridge sink fell off of. That was my first home built computer. I'm glad they both made it to a good home.

I'm looking forward to seeing them crankin again.

"fold with you big guys"? Heck, I can't fold with the "big guys" but I can try. (just like you are)
