HJT Log, Please Review. Computer won't shut down - Jazzbuttco.

My computer has unfortunately fallen infected with some sort of malicious agent. The PC no longer successfully shuts down. The window's log out screen comes up and the blue "saving your settings" screen is where it stays at.

Also, running general programs like Mircosoft Outlook or Internet Explorer is often extremely slow and slugish. I have already ran a HJT log and cleaned it up the best I could.

Any help or insight you may be able to provide would be greatly appreciated and bring much peace of mind to my family and I. Thank You!

    Hi Jazz, sorry for the delay.

    Could you post a new HijackThis log, and let me know if there has been any change in your problem.

    Also, I would like to see another log from HijackThis.
    • Run Hijackthis.
    • Click on Open the Misc Tools section.
    • Next click on Open uninstall manager.
    • Press the Save list button. It will open a Notepad file.
    • Copy & Paste the entire contents of that file in your in your next post.

    My computer seems to doing "okay". Except for two things.

    1) It still fails to shut down properly.

    2) Some times it is slow and slughish. Especially, Microsoft Outlook. Is there anything that can be fixed?

    Can you do the following please...

    Click Start > Run > type in appwiz.cpl and hit enter. From the list uninstall the following, if present:

    Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE v1.4.1_02
    LiveUpdate 2.6 (Symantec Corporation) << You don't have Norton on your computer, so this is not needed.
    Viewpoint Media Player


    Before we go any further, I think you are using TWO Anti-Viruse programs (AVG and a Yahoo one?). Please let me know if this is correct.

    Thank You. I was able to remove two out of three, but an error message occured when I tried to remove Java 2 Runtime.

    The uninstall shield pops up, but than this exact error message reads as fellows:

    The InstallShield Engine (iKernel.exe) could not be launched. Class not registered.


    I took a closer look and I believe I am running three anti-virus programs. The AVG, one from California Associates, and a SBC Yahoo one.

    I removed AVG and Yahoo.

    Look at this Microsoft Article, and see if it helps.

    Three AV's is never a good idea.

    Could you post a new HijackThis log, and a new Uninstall list please.
