Hey guys. I'm having problems with my Intellimouse optical. I called M$, but they keep saying it's the surface. I'm using a light blue mouse pad which is uniform in color. Is there a chance of getting it replaced? If so how should I go about doing that? I know it's definitly hardware related because it doesn't work right on my desktop or laptop on different surfaces.

Big user tip about the intellimouse v1.0 AND 3.0.

Silicone the joint where the wire goes into the mouse. The wire breaks in that point EVERY time after a few months of consistent use.

I went through three before I did it, then I've had the same mouse for a year.

Just antother note to problems with Intellimouse's from microsoft. I seem to have noticed on via K7T266 chipsets that the usb filter is fubared. So if you run it in a usb port it doesn't work properly and pauses every few minutes and won't move. Even with the updated usb filter from via it didn;t solve the problem. Since then I run it on the ps/2 port and everything works great.
