[Solved]please help with my computer

edited October 2006 in Spyware & Virus Removal
Would someone please review the HJT log I've posted below and tell me if I need to fix any entries? My son was surfing some "great" sites while I was on a business trip and now my computer is running slow. I ran spybot, adaware, ewido, and spysweeper scans and norton antivirus scan and fixed suggested entries.

Thanks for your help!

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [MEDIC] "C:\Program Files\MEDIC\bin\sprtcmd.exe" /P MEDIC

    Removed the first entry. I don't recognize the second entry.

    Does it look bad?

    Thanks for your help!

    Since I got back, I have been gettting error messages trying to get into yahoo game rooms using backdoor site. I could always get into the spades and canasta rooms that way...I can now only get in through the yahoo games page and cant use backdoor to get into full rooms.

    I get this error when I try now.

    Sorry, Unable to process request at this time -- error 999.
    Unfortunately we are unable to process your request at this time. This error is usually temporary. Please try again later.

    If you continue to experience this error, it may be caused by one of the following:

    You may want to scan your system for spyware and viruses, as they may interfere with your ability to connect to Yahoo!. For detailed information on spyware and virus protection, please visit the Yahoo! Security Center.
    This problem may be due to unusual network activity coming from your Internet Service Provider. We recommend that you report this problem to them.

    Do you know what the 016 - DPF yahoo spades and yahoo canasta entries are? Could that be preventing me from getting in the backdoors?

    I'm not sure what you mean by "Backdoor", because in "malware" terms a Backdoor is not a good thing. Anyway, please remove these entries and try Yahoo again:

    O16 - DPF: Yahoo! Canasta - http://download.games.yahoo.com/game...ts/y/yt2_x.cab
    O16 - DPF: Yahoo! Spades - http://download.games.yahoo.com/game...ts/y/st3_x.cab
    O16 - DPF: {E473A65C-8087-49A3-AFFD-C5BC4A10669B} (Quantum Streaming IE Player Class) - http://mvnet.xlontech.net/qm/abc/060...ie06071909.cab

    Then, do an online scan with Panda ActiveScan

    - Once you are on the Panda site, click the Scan your PC button
    - A new window will open...click the Check Now button
    - Enter your Country
    - Enter your State/Province
    - Enter your e-mail address and click send
    - Select either Home User or Company
    - Click the big Scan Now button
    - If it wants to install an ActiveX component allow it
    - It will start downloading the files it requires for the scan (Note: It may take a couple of minutes)
    - When download is complete, click on Local Disks to start the scan
    - When the scan completes, if anything malicious is detected, click the See Report button, then Save Report and save it to a convenient location.

    Post the contents of the Panda scan report, along with a new HijackThis Log

    by backdoor I mean a website that has links to the rooms so you can enter them when the normal capacity is exceeded. It isn't like the trojan backdoor computer programs.

    here is an example http://www.shove-it.com/yahoo-canasta

    I'm running the panda scan now....are my 020 entries ok? I don't remember them from earlier scans.

    I removed the 016 entries.

    Thanks!

    That backdoor thing looks cool.

    The O20 entries are safe. They are:

    NavLogon.dll = Norton AV
    WgaLogon.dll = Windows Genuine Advantage
    WRLogonNTF.dll = SpySweeper

    The 016 yahoo canasta and spades entries were gone after I deleted them. I was then able to use the backdoor sites and they returned when I downloaded the yahoo files required to use the spades and yahoo sites.

    When they returned, could you still use the Backdoor site?

    Uninstall Ewido as there is a newer version out. Reboot your computer once done.

    will the AVG conflict with my Norton Antivirus?
  • TroganTrogan London, UK
    edited October 2006
    It shouldn't do. AVG anti-spyware is the same as Ewido, but since Grisoft (makers of AVG anti-virus) bought out Ewido, they decided to change Ewido anti-spyware to AVG anti-spyware.

    Its all the same, just a different colour now. :D
