AT-Style Power Supply Question

Can someone briefly help me answer the following please....

Lets say an AT-style power supply does not have any markings on the connectors. There are also no markings for the power supply connector on a motherboard.

How can I make sure the power supply works?

Thanks in advance!

Plug it in, stand in a pool of water, and stick your finger in it. If you're not lying on the floor limp, drooling on yourself, then the power supply doesn't work.

I forget, aren't AT supplies turned on by a switch on the power supply itself? If that's the case, you could just plug a fan into it or something and see if it spins up when the PSU is turned on.

AT power supplies just turn on. Get a voltmeter and test black/red, black/yellow for 5v and 12v power (I can't remember which applies to which).

I dug up a pinout diagram for AT PSUs, in case it helps:
