Apart from the fact you are using DAP and have an entry in your Trusted Zone (I, personally, wouldn't recommend either) the log is OK.

I have heard reports of modems suppled by Tiscali with their broadband package acting in this way do maybe it's hardware fault.

Have you tried reinstalling your modem and/or keeping an eye on Task Manager to see what's happening when the computer is "running slowly"?
