Natascha will slow down whatever it hits (i.e. you shoot bullets and it slows the target every time it hits it), but at the expense of actual killing power (you lose 25% damage). From what I read, they used an example of "slowing down a scout trying to get away," which would imply it's not simply "stopping power" as implemented in most games, it's just a speed modifier, which is weird, but an interesting deviation. You don't just get slowed down when a heavy's pumping bullets at you when you're trying to kill him, you can get slowed down when you're trying to get away with the intel or whatever as well.

Gonna guess the taunt for Natascha is to eat a sandvich...

    Should be some fun achievements.

    FINALLY!

    Arena Mode announced today!

A new game mode with two new environments (Alpine), and three existing maps in the new mode.

[blockquote]Arena features smaller maps that play out in shorter periods of time. The round ends once one team has no players left in the arena, or when the central capture point has unlocked and been captured. Rounds tend to be very fast and highly competitive, with an emphasis on your team’s class makeup and your plan to counter the opposing team’s class choices. Arena mode is great for smaller matches of three vs. three players, while still comfortably supporting huge knockdown twelve-on-twelve brawls.[/blockquote]

It sounds like sudden death, sort of. I CAN'T WAIT.

This game is like a new game every time they release an update. amazing.

Oh man, now that the Kritzkrieg is useful for a change, I realize that it can be effective in breaking up group charges. Dras and I wreaked havoc with the Kritzkrieg in Lumberyard tonight. It was the first time I'd ever been charged with it.

    Hi there,

I have just bought TF2 and once I get my network card up and running I will be joining in the action. I did install it on my laptop and joined in some public servers but it was too slow!

How do I find the Icrontic server/s?

I know it is probably discussed earlier in this thread but as it is now something like 68 pages long its like looking for a needle in a haystack!

    Cheers guys

See you on the otherside soon

    Hi RichD :D

Put your steam username in your UserCP and I'll be sure to invite you to the Icrontic group. At that point, it's very easy to find any of us - when we play TF2, you'll be notified and you can join the game or chat with us. And there are over 100 of us :)

I think these were very interesting points from Newell:
Or we can do the Pyro updates, and the Medic updates [and so on]. On the consoles, they want us to charge money for them, because that’s in their model, and our model is very much more to grow the community by giving out free updates. That’s harder for us.
And then on the consoles they have pretty lengthy certification periods, and we’re pretty happy that our customers think that we do a good job on the quality side of updates, and we don’t need someone looking over our shoulder checking to make sure that we’re not going to screw our customers with a bad update.
One of the things we’d like to do is to understand what types of applications people have on their PCs. For example, if a whole bunch of people are running Firefox, then make sure that’s one of the applications they can get through Steam.

    I agree CB.
And I think they should keep the updates free.
I don't mind paying for it once.
But I wouldn't buy a game if there's an ongoing charge for updates or monthly charge.
I'm ok with pitching in on a game server too.
I enjoy online gaming and realize it takes cash to run a gaming server.
As most of you members that have been here a while know.
I had the 3-4 different UT servers over a couple of yrs for Icrontic and Short Media.
    And enjoyed it immensely.
Cool that they are working on other applications to use within the steam system.
    Firefox, Peer to Peer, etc.
It's already pretty cool that you can open your steam program and click on someones name and have live voice chat.
As long as that person is online with their steam program on, that is.
