Finally got myself some hardware together that will allow me to play with the big boys (at least I hope so). My SLi 7600GS setup was barely able to hobble through the game enough to make it playable at 640x480.
My spankin new 1GB GDDR3 4670, however, bends this game over and makes it cry for momma. 130fps at 1920x1080? Yes, please.
You couldn't play TF2 on an SLi 7600GS? Weird o.O My kids' computer had a 6600 and it ran fine at 1024x768 medium quality.

It would play, but framerates were such that I'd get my ass handed to me before I knew where I was most of the time. I'm guessing it's because they were bargain-bin parts on a cheapo MoBo. By going to a much higher (top of the line a year ago) single card, I think I've reduced a lot of things that could have caused issues before.
Somewhere along the line the server reset and turned into an arena-only server. The few sad asshats (there's a band / clan name) of us who couldn't make it to Epic were stuck trying to entertain ourselves with character pyramids and sentry flying, which only lasts so long.
If someone could get in there and poke it to play normal stuff again, it would be much appreciated.
Aside from that, thanks much for having the server going in the first place. Tonight aside, it's been one of the coolest places to hang out on a Wed night.
Saw the server info while surfing the TF2 section today but when I tried joining the system said that the Icrontic server was running an older version than mine.
So my question is how long has it been since the last update to TF2 and is there any chance that Icrontic will be receiving said update?
...I never know when anything's going on...makes me very sad.
There are not set playtimes currently. Most of the time when a group is getting together, a Steam Group message will get sent out. Join the Icrontic Steam Group, Add a bunch of the regulars and keep an eye out.
OC3? My desktop has that.... We have dual OC192 just for our internet traffic. We then have Internet2 for traffic over to CERN and other scientific facilities... something like 8 trunks running at 10Gbps. Yeah... we have some serious bandwidth.
