Working on my first build :woowoo:.I plan on using Artic Silver 5 for my thermal paste. I also see that they have a cleaner ArctiClean. Is the paste a good choice and do I need the cleaner to remove the old paste or will something else work as well?

I use 99% Isopropyl rubbing alcohol as a cleaner. Works just fine. Arctic Silver 5 is a good thermal paste, but make sure you follow the instructions because too thick a coating will reduce cooling efficiency.

Exactly what GHoosdum said. The only thermal paste that I have ever used is Arctic Silver 5 so I can't say much about others.

Ceramique is pretty solid, though it's up to you whether you think the price difference is worth it. Lot of people swear by TX2 as well.

Thanks folks. I think I'm going to go with the TX2. Check out this link.

I'm not letting this huge tube of AS5 go to waste, but my next tube will definitely be TX-2. OCZ Freeze also looks to perform very well.

Heh, I too had a gigantic tube of AS5. Then I went to go build a computer for a friend of mine and dropped it - and off came the spout needle. With it now uncappable, I just built his comp and threw it out. Blast that concrete step...
