Does any one have info on Thorton? Supposedly it is a new cpu comping from AMD and it is a hybrid of the tbred and barton cores.

More info here:

I read that article yesterday. I think its bs. How would you make a hybrid of the Barton and Thoroughbred cores?

It was my understanding that the Barton is a Thoroughbred, just with more cache

Fixes incorrectly detect Thorton 2600+(166x12.5)CPU in SoftmenuIII.

I read a while ago that Thorton will be the new Duron. Basically the same as Barton, but with half the L2 cache. And i swear i have seen it on AMD´s roadmaps as well.

Barton with half the cache is once again a Thoroughbred. WTF.

    Only one Die to make.

A Barton core with cache errors magically becomes a Thorton.
