*Waves to all the icrontic people*

My problem is pretty basic. I have a 2.1 speaker system and want to hook it up to my stereo. The stereo has an "audio out" port on the back as well as the classic hook up for the speakers, positive and negative wires with no ends on them.

Basically...this is the set up I'm looking for...

-CompSpeaker- -StereoSpeaker-
-Subwoofer-

-StereoSpeaker- -CompSpeaker-

So....how do I hook my stereo up to my computer? What connections should I be using? Do I have to hack some wires to make it work? It really doesn't matter to me, I just want it working.....

Honestly, I have no idea what you're asking for and what your end goal is with that diagram. Are you trying to add a set of 2.1 speakers to a 2.0 stereo to get 4.1 sound or something?

The 2.1's are powered computer speakers, right?

Do you have a 5.1 sound card with outputs?

Yup. Not sure about my sound card though....splicing wires doesn't really phase me though so I don't think that'll be an issue...

You can't, the 2.1's are a powered set of speakers, you need line level outputs on the Stereo, which it sounds like you don't.

Are you hooking the stereo to the computer or the computer speakers to the stereo?

Ideally, the stereo to the computer since I assumed it'd be easier but either way...

I just want more sound... :(

Ok.. Stereo to the computer is a lot easier.

Look at your sound card, how many outputs does it have?
