SATAIII on SATAII

If any of you were on the fence about using a SATAIII drive on a SATAII interface, don't be :)

1st picture is the SATAIII drive, 2nd is the SATAII drive.

Both drives are on the ICH10R in AHCI mode using Intel RST 9.6 drivers.

SATAIII drives perform really well on SATAII interfaces.

    I would hope so, being that it's a backwards-compatible standard and all.

    now did you use a SATA2 cable or SATA3 cable for these test results? and what block size was the drive formatted with?

    Just a SATA cable that came with a motherboard, had locking clips though.

    Formatted with the default for NTFS, 4K.

    I was mostly talking about the increased 4K and sequential writes with compressed data. The 6G drive does it better.
