Thinking of getting an XBox 360 and then the Kinetics... This will be my first console and budget is REALLY tight so used or a refurb might be the only way to get one... any help in finding one would be appreciated.

I'm pretty sure that generation of the 360 works with the Kinect, but requires the Kinect to plug into a power source outside the 360.

So... I would need an external hard drive? Does it have BlueRay or just DVD reader? Like I said, I'm a noob.

As for the Kinect add on, I will worry about that later as long as it can work with your Arcade version.

QCH - you'd want an external HD eventually. Only so many game saves will fit on the internal memory - you can get them on ebay pretty cheap. No bluray though

Kinect is compatible with every 360, but as Rob said, you'll be taking up a USB port and an extra power plug; the newer Xbox 360 has a dedicated Kinect port which is a single plug-in connection.

if you want to elimate additional AC plug, this is what you need, i like it better, as it does not contantly drain 5V from AC/DC adapter and Xbox has full power management over it
