I noticed that people started naming the roads on the server. This is great, no problems with that. I just want to define a few guidelines when doing so.
First off the 4 roads that extend from the center of spawn are reserved for community naming. I noticed the main center road through town had been named and already spoke with the member who placed that and sounds like we are ok giving a different road that name.
Roads running perpendicular to spawn will be Lanes, Cross streets (parallel to spawn) will be Avenues. There are 4 Lanes between industrial plots that will be named separately.
Avenues A Mortin Ave A-B Demacia Ave (sp?) B-C Memorial Ave C-D Yordle Ave D-E Equestria Avenue E-F Acacia Avenue F-G G-H H
Lanes 1 Snuffie Lane 1-2 2-3 (Reserved for MW naming) 3-4 4-5 5-6 Icrontic Lane 6-7 Digital Lane 7-8 Whiskey Lane 8-9 Beierman Ave 9-10 10 I1-3 I3-5 I6-8 Hell's Highway (Officially Hell's Lane) I8-10
Members have spent time 'normalizing' the look of the roads with sandstone and cobble. Everyone is free to work with their neighbors to customize the roads around their plots.
Standard sign post for street names have been placed. Currently builders have been using fence posts with signs on corners. This is fine but we are still open to suggestions. I think that every intersection needs some sort of sign post with the intersecting road names.
So throw them out here. If you already have them named, let me know so I can update the OP. Any deputes please PM me and we'll work it out. Priority naming will go to members who's plots are on that road.
I realize we still need some optimization in the industrial sector, but are we supposed to standardize the road materials? Half appears to be sandstone and the other half appears to be stone.

Work was done so the roads looked like roads. The final design of each road is to be decided by the plot owners on that road. We should come up with a standardized intersection though.
I ripped through the Tree Farm back wall, I made the 5 wide, but only 3 high through the farm. I made the road extend about 200 blocks or so out the back.
I'd like to at least have input into the naming of the street that is north of my house (the one that runs between my residential plot and those of CB and Zanthian, and intersects Acacia.
I finished putting up most of the street signs in the right places last night and will work on getting 4 signs at each intersection tonight. I will need any glowstone and signs people are willing to donate, just throw it in a chest at my house. Most of the streets still need names though. Once street names are agreed on and if you want to help set signs just go down the road, remove the placeholder sign, and put up the name like this.
I've looked at the OP, I don't understand the A-B, 1, 1-2 numbering system. The idea for 4 signs on each sign post is so you can see what the road names are no matter which direction you come at the intersection without needing to look at it from a different angle.
I believe his numbering system refers to the town layout... so 1-2 would be the street between row 1 and row 2. A-B would be between column A and column B

I'll do up a better image showing the roads later tonight. The major flaw with your image Canti is that in our layout none of the industrial lanes other than Icrontic Lane (center) line up with the residential lanes. This opens up for more lanes to name.
Ardi has it on the nose. 1 being the outside lane on the south. 1-2 being the road between plot rows 1 and 2, 2-3 between plot rows 2 and 3, ect.
Thank you for all the work you are doing on this Canti.

In other words: Should we go around or through in our attempt to make the road going east?

I've got two and both are terrible, I'm not good at naming things.
Arkham road
ADVENTURE LANE (or avenue I suppose)
Chuck Testa?
And obligatory:

Also: 4 signs?
