Apple gets patent for "graphical user interface for displaying electronic lists and documents".

Maybe you've seen this on reddit already, but this is ridiculous. Apple now has the ability to protect its patent for a "Portable electronic device, method, and graphical user interface for displaying electronic lists and documents".

I for one think this is absurd and like Ford getting approved for a patent of, "A four wheeled engine-propelled machine with capacity for one or more passengers and the ability to move forward, backwards and turn at varying speeds." Now it's the only car manufacturer in the nation, (at least).

    Yeah, the amount of prior art here is simply staggering. Yet another example of how completely broken our patent system is.
