Simple PC Cam Buying Question

I've not had to buy a pc cam since 2002 and my in-laws want something so they can skype with their son and his gf. I've tried to find some guides but none that are what I'm looking for. Many of them were brand-specific or too high-end.

Anyone who knows:
----------------
What are the range of stats for a pc cam now?
Megapixels? Resolution? Frame rate? Price points? Solid brands/models? What should I expect for a middle-of-the-road external pc cam?

I'm guessing the answer will be "Logitech, $35", or something close, but if anyone knows this off-hand, feel free to drop a reply. Thanks!

I looked before, about three years ago, and ended up going with a Logitech that Skype listed as compatible with their service.

Logitech C310 is what I bought, and it has performed perfectly. 720p video calls, excellent mic, very good auto focus and light correction. Also has a billion positive reviews on newegg.

I think you're right on the money with that estimate. The Logitech C210 and C310 are both fine cameras to work with, and are Skype compatible.
