Just found out that Jason Molina (singer and songwriter behind Songs: Ohia and Magnolia Electric Co.) died over the weekend. So I've been listening to a bunch of his music all day. He was so talented, it's such a tragic loss.

For some odd reason I can't embed it. But anyhow, take a moment and lookup Black Violin. These two guys are extremely talented and their music is just fantastic. Both albums are damn nice, but their first one is my personal favorite. I had an eargasm when I saw them on the apollo in 05'.

This song is amazing. I know everyone is in to what they're in to, that music is kind of personal, and that a song that resonates with one person might not resonate with another... but I've been thinking a lot about @spencerforhire lately, and, well... take away from this what you will.
Because I don't feel like I've thrown enough Nine Inch Nails at this thread yet.
Pretty much everything Trent Reznor does it fantastic, also he probably has the most badass name I can think of, also also he has the best live performance of any show I've been to, also also also NIN should be touring later this year, if you enjoy it at all go see them, I'll go with you. Did I mention I really like Nine Inch Nails?

I find Lindsey Stirling just as sexy and talented as the rest of you, but sometimes I wonder if any of us (myself included) would be even remotely interested in her music if either these videos never existed (i.e. she was a radio artist), or if she was completely unattractive. This, of course, could go off into a whole discussion about the role of sexuality and physical presence in the music world. I know there are valid points to be made about the concept that only "attractive" people can become successful (in b4 the few anecdotes of successful musicians who are not traditionally attractive). I guess what I'm saying is: would any of us listen to this kind of, let's be frank, "relatively standard" violin music if Lindsey Stirling wasn't SMOKING FUCKING HOT, she wasn't an obvious video game nerd, and if she didn't dance in such an enchanting fashion?
