I had no qualms switching the e-mail address on my various accounts (E-bay, PayPal, forums, etc.) to Gmail. Here are several reasons why.

Decent article. Thanks. INTERESTING email address.... But won't try it. At least it is hard for spam-bots and trojans to grab email adresses out of graphics... :D

Thanks for review on Gmail that highlighted items I wasn't aware of.

Still a little curious about the security issues I've heard rumored about Gmail scanning your email. Hope next time around, you can give us the skinny on this rumor.

    Keep up the good writing.

No one goes looking through your e-mail. It's all scanned for keywords and stuff it can relate to ads.

Google does ads for Short-Media if you haven't noticed. Look near the top of this page. I don't now exactly "relevent" the ads are in this case though. It prolly came from someone's sig.

No one's sitting there looking at your email.

It just runs a program, finds some words it can match to its database, and then slaps up adverts. No big deal.

I've sold all of your guy's email to pay for the bandwidth around here. Hell...I sold Thrax, like 3 times already. Not his email...Thrax himself.

Oh...BTW Thrax...Keto's expecting you in Edmonton....something about washing his car and laundry.

Actually, I will stick with what I have for email, though I was interested in the size of Gmail email box for possible DTP graphics traffic. BUT, Hotmail has pumped the size of thier eboxes also now, that leaves me with an existing account with a larger capacity and enough existing accounts that I do not need more email capacity overall.

Yahoo also has pumped up the size of their e-mail accounts (free service) to 100MB.

Oh, and that ad is generated from words in GeneralKeebler's sig.

I haven't even looked at it yet. The thought of even more adds puts me off.

That's the price to pay when getting a slick thousand mb's.

I'm too the point now where I don't see ads anymore. I think I developed a kind of built-in ad blocker into my brain after all this time. Who knows, maybe this will be the next evolution for mankind in relation to the internet.
