Extract JPG from EXE

I'm looking for a program that will extract JPG images that are stored in an EXE.

I've tried reshacker, but that only works for resources like icons or dialog boxes, not for JPGs. Any help would be appreciated.

Can't you just screen capture it?

I don't see how this could work at all without entirely decompiling the program, as Kryyst said you're probably better of just screen-capturing it. Icons are easy to exact from something, data that is encoded into an executable format is a very different matter though.

Although, don't listen to me, everything I've said lately has been wrong.

"View bitmap, JPEG, GIF and PNG resource image, extract as a graphic image file(*.bmp, *.jpg, *.gif, *.png), copy image to clipboard"

Actually, resourcehacker is reshacker. It won't do it. It will give you what was in the .res file, but not JPGs that were compiled into the program somewhere else.

I'll try RC Hunter . . . maybe that will work.

No. The program shows a thumbnail of the JPG. I can right-click on the image and save it to disk and then view the image at full resolution, but since there are a few hundred images I'd much rather not do it manually.

I guess my next question is are you sure that the jpg's are in the .exe. Usually they are stored in seperate files, may be .dat or other extentions but often not embedded in the .exe

Of course that's just a generality and not a rule. What program are you trying to get the pictures out of anyway?

The EXE files were on a CD with no other files. I copied ONLY the EXE files to my hard drive. Not possible the JPGs are stored in an external source. They are compiled directly into the EXE. The programs were given to me by a company I am looking to purchase some patterns from and I wanted an easy way to index the patterns. There are a handful of EXE files and the patterns are not organized within the files so I need to dig through each EXE to find the patterns I want. If I can extract the JPGs I can index them appropriately and therefore find the patterns I need much more quickly.
