The Official Short-Media AMD Overclocking Database

Welcome to the 'Official' Short-Media AMD Overclock database thread. This thread aims to centralize the overclocking results currently scattered around the forum.

To get included in the database, simply post your highest stable CPU clock. Memory overclocks are irrelevant for the purposes of this database. The higher the CPU overclock, the higher you'll be in the rankings. Please see the below requirements for details.

Requirements for entry:
  • List of system specifications (See post #2 below for an example)
  • Screenshot containing all of the following: (See post #2 below for an example)
CPU-Z 1.31 or later displaying clock AND memory frequency
A64 Tweaker 0.60 displaying all memory timings (for A64/Opteron only)
One of the following stability tests: Prime95 small FFT testing for minimum 1 hour, Superpi 32M test completed, SP2004 test run for minimum 1 hour or the F@H console displayed with 1 hour of successful WU processing :fold: . Dual core submissions must display two instances of one of the mentioned stability tests to be considered.

Optional (but recommended display items):
Other Rules and Notes: Please do not post anything in this thread other than database submissions. Please start a new thread in the Performance Tweaking section if you'd like to discuss anything OC related. I'll be watching this thread and updating the master list as new entries appear. If I missed your entry for whatever reason, please PM me. Please refrain from using external image hosting--upload your screenshot as an attachment and do not use the IMG tags to display it full-size. This will help to keep the thread looking clean, and unstretched.

CPU & Mainboard are known to be legendary.....CPU is the AXMG (cream of the crop) "Godlike" stepping with IQYHA & the ABiT NF7-S 2.0 was next kin to the AOpen AK79D-400Max as the two most hailed enthusiast products for nForce2 and K7 systems. (The DFI Lanparty NFII Ultra & ASUS A7V8X-E Deluxe was also among them) The RAM tho I switched them with Crucials for lower timings 2-2-2-2-1T all the way! (I'll put in the BH-5's back in later) product id: "BL6464Z505", and I added more fans in my computer to have the temp down to 39.50C on AIR COOLING! (even at 2.6GHz) my machine is loud tho.....(o... and why did the font shrink upon my overclock this time in super-pi??? idk) anyways i'll keep this post 4ever before I go too crazy. peace out....isi.

Other:had to modify the plastic bracket a bit my drill and a couple of washers to fit the cooler with the nipples that came with the sink as it would have not fit otherwise. The only real overclock option on this card is to change the bus speed freq as the board doesn`t allow you to do any vcore mods or change the multiplier, have no idea what my temp is if I stress it since the mobo didn`t come with any additional software at all but it´s working and that´s good enough for me.

as you see on the cpu-z in the bmp I have a slightly higher speed on that as I found it stable @ 2865 aswell after I got the latest bios downloaded I have not gotten this validated since I thought it was unnecessary, this mb will probably clock higher if I got some active cooling for the sb and nb but I´m happy with FX57 speed for 3700+ money

    Other notes:
Don't pay any attention to the Vcore reading in CPU-z, all of the new versions have problems reading voltages and such on my board. I have included my MBM5 dashboard in the screenshot for this reason. My motherboard seems to be the limiting factor here. I can get it to 2.7GHz no problem, but only with serious stability issues in Windows. Hopefully I will be switching to DFI soon, and should be able to break past the 2.7Ghz barrier (I'll be shooting for at least 334*9 = 3006 MHz).

Locked to a max of 4x hypertransport, otherwise identical to a newcastle 3500+. It seems to me that these revision newcastles don't overclock well. If I go to 2450, it runs, but is unstable. Anything higher and it bluescreens. Test conditions, idle temp 28c, load temp 42c.

    Cooling: Asetek Vapochill LS (Phase-Change)
    PSU: PCP&C 510 Express
Other Notes: This is my 24/7 config. Chip will do 3.1GHz, but requires a fair bit more voltage. This stepping is cold bug free.

A special thank you to lemonlime for his guide on overclocking on the Socket 754 platform. (It was a pleasant surprise that he used the same processor and memory that I have in his guide, so that made it all the more handy)

A big thumbs up to csimon as well for all the additional advice he provided and for introducing me into the Short-Media Folding at Home team

    PSU: 400W noname

Working fine without problems. I'push the FSB until 295 Mhz [3245Mhz],but the CPU became to hot by 52°C. For security reasons i'slow back to 3028Mhz. Another problem was the Power supply[PSU]. 400W is not enough for an overclocked SLI configuration. The fuse was jammed down after 2hrs
playing Rainbow-Six with medium options. I'will replace the PSU by a Textorm 550W, and the Silentboost by a new: TITAN Cooler AMANDA K8 [see picture] It's expensive but it's still the best for this work.

For the next overclock experience i'will use different Memory like single & double slide in Dual-channel

For that reason i'got two brandnew:
INFINEON [2x512mo PC 3200/400 SS=SingleSlide] and two other,
    HYNIX [2x512mo PC 3200/400 DD=DoubleSlide]

    to be continued...

Tell me about you're experience with the AMD 3700+

For questions: i'speak french & german too...

    P.S.

This is the first time I tried overclocking....
I was expecting a better result; but neither upping the Vcore, Vdimm, or loosening timings managed to get a better stressstable result.
I got all the way up to 2.85 GHZ, and the system appeared stable at first but it didn't pass SuperPI, I had to declock all the way down here.

If anyone has any hints as to what I did wrong, I would love to learn from you.

Since my last post with an another clock result(3028Mhz) who wasn't able to
get through the torture test like Prime95 or OCCT (hardware failure dedected after 42min of testing). Now, a much better result with new RAM - devices &
new PSU (520w). I'choiced 4 sticks in singleslide version and run them down to 333mhz\211 Mhz(toCpu) who matched in harmony with the FSB & Bus speed. Now, it takes only seconds from the boot to the wellcomescreen and nothing is freezing after a while. The CPU seems freshly like a reborn. No problem with Prime95 or other tests (while testing i'completly forgot to close emule-download and bitdefender who was updating at the same time!!!). Prime was running in the blend version for 1hr - followed by occt for an another hour... finally come to end with SuperPi, who close these act after 33min. My opinion about this fantastic cpu; there are much more power reserves as it seems, but you must know the key to open the magic gate.

(maximum push to 3333Mhz [58°C] with an aircooler, but crashed after 5min)

to be continued... (with a watercooler or an Titan-Amanda K8)
