What graphics cards can this computer support?

Ok me and my friend were playing left 4 dead and his computer would on run it on medium settings... and lag on high. This is because of his graphics card. He has 3gb of ram, an AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ 2.60 GHZ processor, but only a Geforce 8300 GS video card.
The computer that I am on has 3gb of ram and an intel core 2 duo with only 1.6ghz, but an 8800gts and it runs the game all the way up with ease....
So I know its the graphics card, and he wants to upgrade, but I do not know what his motherboard can support. Ive ran specs tests with "everest" but when I click motherboard, it says unknown, so I don't even know what motherboard is in here, to even begin looking it up.

If he has a 5000+ then I assume it is AM2 with DDR2, do you at least know that?
Download it here: http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php
You want to look at the memory tab, top left corner.
That will also tell you the mobo.. just click the Mainboard tab.
Better yet.. post both tabs here.
He would get better memory performance if he only ran 2GB of ram.
Also.. PCI-e is the type of Vid card. You can put an Nvidia GTX280 or an ATI 4870 or 4870X2 if you want.
Just make sure you have a PSU to power it
uhh how good does the PSU have to be to handle this card? I didn't even think about this. lol
thanks a lot for the help.:D
He might get away with a 550, but it can't be a 40 dollar one.
he will probably get a new PSU and a 9800GX2
thanks a lot for the help
