Here's something I've been working on. It's a series of canals and minecart tracks throughout my world. I've only got about 1.2Km of track but the canals total about 2Km.

    Canals_1.png
    A high altitude causeway.

    Canals_2.png
The big one! A boat lift from lava level to the top of a mountain, 90m vertically.

    Canals_3.png
The longest canal. 1.2Km long with a minecart track adjacent. Built on level with lava, 10m from the bottom of the map.

I didn't create this, but we definitely need to do this with the old map when we decide to reset the server.

Step 1: Replace all grass, dirt, and stone with leaves
Step 2: Remove sand, gravel, and water
    Step 3: Ignite

All thats left is ore, obsidian, and lava:

Speaking of vikings, could Home Tree be the figurative equal to the World Tree of Yggdrasil? Which means that the burning of Home Tree the signal to the start of Ragnarok? Who will be the two surviving humans that repopulate the world? Is the true culprit of the heinous crime of burning Home Tree actually be Loki, the trickster? What of the Gods? Noble Einherjar it is time to leave Valhalla for the ending of this world!

    Norse Mythology is so groovy.

I started construction on Atlantis... Stupid creatures blowing holes in my structure before I could put up torches was a pain... I was almost done with phase one and then I had to rebuild...

Out of curiosity, how are you building Atlantis? Assuming it's the underwater city I'm expecting, how will you remove the water once the structure has walls - or will you build it under the ocean floor and then lower the floor around your place?

    Very interesting.

Going to try and make one if these. It *might* fit if the base is on the bedrock, so it'll probably be in some kind of missile silo.

    (it's over 85 meters tall)

If it's 85 meters, you could safely go only 30-35 blocks below sea-level and keep it under the skydome. You wouldn't have to break it all the way down to bedrock.

I guess I don't want to build the whole thing, only to be 5 blocks short :)

Started building the area that will serve as the platform for the rocket. Figured I *could* make a missile silo, but that wouldn't allow the rocket to be seen too well, so I started making a bowl in the water off the site of Home Tree 1&2
