I am a little more knowledgable than my question gives me credit for...LOL...

Old laptop was vista...new one is XPPRO

The issue: Laptop MB went bad but my FHDD is running fine and have bought an external inclosure and all is seen...

I want to move my data over...I am working through finding some of it...but there has to be a way for me to get the settings (favorites and such) over...

I will have other questions but right now that is the first issue...

My first thought is booting up from FHDD and and doing the widows thing...gonna try that now and c if works...

If anyone got any ideas let me know...thx!

USB to SATA kit, drive will mount like an external HDD in windows. Navigate to appropriate folder (will be under c:\users for vista and to c:\documents and settings\ for XP)

If you want alll your favorites in IE to take, make usre you have the same version of IE in both the old HD and the new laptop's windows, also. You might have to upgrade IE in XP Pro to get things really compatible.
