What monitor should I buy?

MJOMJO Denmark New
Hi

I'm looking for a new monitor, but the ideal monitor apparently doesn't exist? :)

In my book the ideal monitor would have these specs.
1920x1200 resolution
120 hz
IPS panel
Low response time and little to no input lag

No monitor exist with the specs. It will always be a compromise.
But what monitor comes close?

Please note that I play a lot of fps games.
But I am also doing some photo editing. That means that accurate colors is also important.
I do not watch movies on the computer, so that is not important.

Off the top of my head I know there's a couple threads on here that have a damn good list of monitors out there (recent) I just can't remember them specifically right now. One thread I think it had to do with getting a 3 or 5 monitor setup where there were a few good monitors tossed out during that discussion and another thread about Fatcat and his Ultrasharp sexy monitor find that led to some pretty good monitor mentions too. Sorry I can't be more help, but maybe searching those things in the forums will get ya to at least a starting point :)

//EDIT: There are no IPS+120Hz monitors currently for sale.

You either get TN+120Hz or IPS+60Hz.

    What do you value more?

After doing a lot of researching I have found this monitor.
    23" FORIS FS2333-BK WideScreen
    http://www.eizo.se/default.aspx?page=11&product=FS2333-BK
It seems to be a good compromise between the two worlds. Gaming and non-gaming. :)
And it is an Eizo, they usually makes good monitors.
I have read a couple of reviews and they were also positive.
Anyone have any experience with this monitor?
It isn't 24", resolution isn't 1920x1200 and it is not 120 hz either but I think I will manage that.

Best in class overall is still the HP ZR2440w. You want color accuracy, there's really nothing finer until you get into the $1.5K+ range. And the ZR2440w is a certified and guaranteed Class 1 monitor - meaning color correct, calibration, the works.

The ZR2440w also meets most of your specifications:
1920x1200 native resolution. 24". 60Hz with overdrive mode. Input latency 10ms. Latest version LG S-IPS panel.

Edit: to clarify, LCD Review found latency of 20ms - this is incorrect. I confirmed with HP's engineers in Color Critical that it is the same 10ms as the ZR24w.

    Agreed with ZR2440w.
