I'd like to see a comparison of speeds with raid-0/raid-1/jbod. :/

The results were so close it could be chalked up to margin of error for RAID 0,1,10, and 5.

Edit: I don't have results for RAID-1 by itself. That mode only works with two drives...doesn't work with four.

ATTO RAID comparisons. Writes differ a bit more between RAID levels than reads.

Given those numbers, why would I ever take raid-0 over the JBOD option?

I wouldn't either. I would instead use RAID-5 for some volume integrity.

In case anyone goes looking for the 2TB version that was reviewed...

It is not currently listed on the product page due to limited quantities of 500GB drives. According to OWC's PR rep:

But it can be done as a build request. All you have to do is type in "QX2 2TB" in the search box near the top of the page, and it will take you to a 2Tb build solution:

There aren't any JBOD benchmarks. Any single spinning drive should produce well under 250 MB/s.

I assumed the first graph was JBOD, perhaps incorrectly. @mertesn

Did you mean to say RAID-5 or RAID-10 instead of JBOD?

Nope, if the performance of raid-0 is the same as JBOD, there's no reason to do it. RAID-10 and 5 have other benefits, so there is a reason to pick them over JBOD.

JBOD was not in the charts.
