Farnsworth has a twerking problem

I had to get out of my chair and yell at Farnsworth today because he was twerking his ass so hard against the coffee table top that it was banging loudly as it moved. This is not his first coffee table twerk, but rather one in a series of escalating incidents.

In related news, we have a dog available for adoption. He is trained and ready for clubbing.

maybe he has worms and his butthole itches

It's the top of his lower back he's rubbing under the lip of the table, not a butt scoot.

Also he's literally doing it again right this minute.

  • Fleas or seizures.

My vet told me that dogs do that (among other things) when they need to express their anal gland and can't get satisfaction otherwise. So, take that for what it's worth.

All the funny dancing dog videos on the internet turn out to be diseases causing rhythmic movement instead of pure K9 feeling the groove. If Farnsworth does not have a disease causing his dancing, then I hear his 15 minutes calling.

Just get him some of this and it will all be better.

Brian gave him a bath today to see if that would help. He went straight from the bathroom to the coffee table.

@Linc, see above. It is the real deal. I went through this before with a couple different dogs.

Agree sounds like anal gland. I would a vet visit for that, unless you want to get awkward friendly with your dog's pooper and make it secrete one of the nastiest smelling substances known to man.

  • From my understanding (and the fact that my family has had a few cocker spaniels over the years), anal gland issues are pretty common in that breed. They just always have that need for expression.
