I'll have you know I stood at MicroCenter last night and seriously stared at the box for the Radeon R9-380 that would match my current GPU... I had to convince myself that I do not need a second GPU. Why would I need a second GPU? That's just asking for trouble and it's a total waste of money. I have no reason to have a second GPU. I'm not experiencing any performance issues in any of the games I play, in fact my GPU is OP for most games I play. Ha! I don't need a second GPU that just introduces unnecessary complexity to my system and creates headaches! Why would I need a second GPU? That's just dumb Brian, walk away.

    Walk away.

I've noticed that after returning to F@H I have been eyeballing hardware more frequently. I think the points turn everyone into the USSR and it becomes a hardware arms race.

We must not allow a points gap!

Consecutive 650k point days. It's nice when the system's stable.

I got a new motherboard installed today. Between this, a new GPU, and the new PSU I had better have a rock-solid system now.

I have replaced the motherboard, PSU, and GPU and I launched folding and I opened Chrome and it hard-crashed in the exact same way HA HA HA HA

No, I meant you could've clicked his name instead of asking him, not figured out the reverse.

Although, come to think of it, I do work at a supercomputer center...

Unfortunately, I can't test the Tesla cards in our system because the GPU core is expecting a newer C library than CentOS 6.6 comes with (someone else diagnosed the problem here).

But CPU folding isn't so bad when you have 40 cores.

Hahaha, 100k PPD on CPU only. Yep, 'not so bad' indeed.

Thanks, although I turned it off -- it was really running the computer pretty hard even in the lowest setting. It would be nice if I could put time slots on it or something. Like 'only fold under the lighest setting between 1am and 5am'

I configured the remote access in the advanced control panel, and it's totally awesome to be able to monitor both PCs at the same time. It was kind of a pain to set up as it was not working initially and I have no idea what I did to get it to work. I did restart both clients and after that it started working.

IRRC, Nvidia specifies 40 ft·lb to properly retain GTX series cards to the PCI-E bracket. @_k must have read the manual.
