I'm always reading the Tao )open a page and read every now and then(, Also reading "nothing feels good", "our band could be your life", and a Novell manual. My GF and I laid in bed last night and read "If Buddha dated" together. it was amazing. She held the book while we both read and we would take turns commenting on parts we found interesting. I recomend "joint-reading" to all the couples in the house.

Never tried that. My wife would probably be totally into that. We're both avid readers, but we've never read together.

I just finished reading "Kamanita" by Pitsamai Intarachat Yupho (Originally a Thai book, translated into English)- it's a fictional love story set in the time of the Buddha. It's really cool because it's short and sweet, but very deep. Towards the end, the author does a surprisingly compelling description of the cosmos, and puts the Buddha's teachings about the nature of life and the universe into very easy to digest terms. It really made me think a LOT.

I guess you guys are including Sci-Fi books in this discussion? I just finished Gunslinger myself CBDroege, very interesting.
I've been reading a few books by Neal Stephenson. Just finished Snow Crash, for the second time, and Loved it! I'm now reading Cryptonomicon, which is quite a read.

I am kinda a, um, PROFLIGATE reader. In the past four days, have read Ben Bova's Saturn, Frederick Forsyth's Avenger, An older Zane Grey western about two transplanted Texas cowboys adventures in Australia, three Elmer Kelton westersn, 5 tech magazines, Micheal J. Durant's In The Company of Heroes and misc tech research stuff. Part of this was practice due to eye problems outlined below. Normally I go through 2-3 thousand pages a week of written stuff. NOT counting forums and web research. No, not boasting, just telling the truth, I am an avid bibliophile.

Every Ann McCaffery book, I have read at least twice. Ditto for the local library's entire Sci-Fi collection, most of the mysteries, about 1\5th of the bibliographies of folks at local library, etc.

Fun getting used to reading with right eye, and using left eye for distance. Eye doctors are getting to the point where they are recommending one eye, monocular, for reading and computing, and one eye for distance. I have had a retinal tissue hole repaired with an argon laser about 4 weeks ago, that healed in fine, and have glasses plus a contact in right eye only to induce nearsightedness in right eye. This last happened after the strabismus surgeon said absolutely NOT to let anyone straighten right eye. Problem is, right eye is now straightening itself, to have binocular vision I also have double vision. Using right eye as I type, LEFT eye to check typing.

One Dead Indian by Peter Edwards. Summary: Critical examinations of the crisis at Ipperwash that lead to the death of Dudley George. Ominous implications.

Also reading Scientific American, HOW and Computer Monitor (Sort of my computer wish-list)

I just finished Underboss: the Sammy the Bull Gravano Story, by Pete Maas. It was real good. Put a spin on John Gotti, seems as though he was quite a bastard.

And currently reading Architects of Victory: Six Heroes of the Cold War by Joseph Shattan for Politcal Science.
