Folks, I post here tonight because I must confront an addiction that I must get overcome for the sake of sanity. Although I'm sure some of you may understand what I'm talking about, yet do not consider it an addiction, I however, must get over it.

I'm addicted to Newegg's Refurbished section. Everyday, I browse the refurbished section, compusively looking for a good deal, checking for newly added items every hour, sometimes every 10 minutes when I know they are due (usually Tues & Thurs afternoon a new batch arrives, sometimes more frequently). I would be searching, checking, sorting by price, searching for product, looking for a good deal on no particular product. Whether it be a deal on a couple sticks of ram... or a 1200JB harddrive.. or a Plextor DVD or CDRW drive, to Radeon 9xxx video cards.. to even NF7's and Bartons. I'm freaking addicted to the damn site, and I've bought hardware of the refurbished section like crazy. The Fed Ex man knows me by name, I've changed my homepage to the New Egg's refurb section, and everytime I can access the internet I start typing the notorious "N" word.

As a result, I have hundreds of dollards worth of refurbished equipment laying around that I haven't even touched yet. Yes, some of you may be pissed because of all the wasted GHZ of power laying around that could be folding.

Anyway, I just had to vent, and hopefully, I will let go of my NR-Syndrome some time soon.

PS. None of my stuff is forsale, and I plan to build a system and start folding next week. Should add ~3000MHZ of "part time" folding power.

-Peace-

One of Newegg's refurb sections is my homepage on all of my computers. Which one it is, depends on what I'm looking for at any given time.

Oh, and do yourself a favor: stay AWAY from the surplus stores. I've bought 6 motherboards, 5 CPUs, 10 SCSI RAID cards, and some other stuff in the past few weeks.

i only get addicted to that site when i have money.... when i dont have money i dont care whats on the refurb lists or whats for sale or what not... unless i am REALLY looking for something good.

just get your mind off of it man. it helps. go out with your family or something. im barely controlling MY computer addiction, good lord i used not even go to school i was so addicted, im getting better the more think about it and want to not be this way, just go do something fun. that has nothing to do with PC's maybe find another hobby, like Anime or something?

I know the feeling. I'm not so much addicted to the Refurb section as I am addicted to the entire site. :D

A number of these are RMAs (kept getting bad Corsair XMS PC3200 memory. NewEgg finally made it right though and I have some KHX PC3200 that I'm very happy with.)

I feel your pain. I just ordered a refurbed 9800. I don't even play games right now. I formatted my computer more than a month ago and I've yet to install one. :banghead:

Geeky is addicted as well. And I know he has his homepage set to the refurb section, from AIM conversations, haha

I am addicted to being on my computer and playing Counter-Strike lately, that's all I do night and day when I'm not at work, it's crazy I tell ya. I used to look for good deals on parts to just collect incase I need them, that's why I have a lot of spare parts.

But now I'm saving all my money to my car, so it helps to have another addiction to feed on for a while.
