I have a 2004 F-150 with a 4.8L Triton V8 I want to make it sound good Not ricerish but you know Goooooooood! dont have a butt load of cash to spend without dipping into the Computer upgrade fund ( credit cards ;) ) and I dont want to go dual exaust any ideas?

Flowmaster seems to be what everyone is putting on these days.

Just get a single-in single-out muffler, should sound alright.

Chevy trucks all sound like crap. I think all Chevy truck owners purposely put either glasspacks on or try to speed up the rust on their existing mufflers so they are as obnoxious as possible.

Anywho, I'd say either Flowmaster or Dynomax, most aftermarket mufflers sound good if you know what sound you want. Might want to check out ford-trucks.com (http://www.ford-trucks.com) forums to see what others are doing.

I have Flowmaster on both my cars and I'm going with Dynomax next just for a change of sound and I don't hear myself coming and going because everyone has Flowmaster.

I'm not gonna get into the Chevy hate here, haha

If you want good sound I would go with flowmasters, but it want be the same if you are not going dual.

Not hate, just saying that's what Chevy truck owners seem to do in my area. If I owned one I wouldn't do what they do, that's all.

you could just put a cherry bomb on it. all you do is replace it with your other muffler. it gives it a deep rubble sound. you can find them at most part stores. they don't cost that much either.

i like the flowmasters but id do a dual exhaust on that v8, it would be a lot better idea. sometimes help even get better gas milage

Just run straight pipe. Screw the mufflers!
